Aracatu, a municipality located in the state of Bahia, has made significant advances in its urban infrastructure. Despite being ranked 4995th among the 5,570 municipalities in Brazil in the development ranking, the municipality has shown continuous efforts to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.

With a Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.581, Aracatu still has a way to go to reach higher standards. However, this does not diminish the fact that the city has made steady progress in improving the quality of life of its citizens. The GDP per capita of R$ 10,000 also suggests that the standard of living in Aracatu is improving, although there is still room for growth.
