State of Distrito Federal

Distrito Federal is a federative unit of Brazil, located in the Central-West region of the country. Created in 1960, its capital is Brasília, planned to be the political-administrative center of Brazil. Its importance is reflected not only in the concentration of governmental institutions, but also in the cultural and social diversity it hosts. The state is a symbol of Brazilian modernity and urban development, attracting visitors and citizens from different parts of the country and the world.

Geography and Territory

Distrito Federal has an area of approximately 5,802 km², making it one of the smallest federative units in territorial extension. Its geography is marked by predominantly flat terrain, with some elevations at its borders, such as the Planalto Central. The climate is tropical, with a well-defined dry season and a rainy season that occurs between October and March. The soil is rich in nutrients, favoring the cerrado vegetation, which is predominant in the region.
